Eligibility for CTET depends on which paper you are applying for:

 

Paper For Teaching Classes Minimum Educational Qualification*

 

Paper I Classes I to V (Primary) 12th (or equivalent) + Diploma / Certificate in Elementary Education (or as per NCTE norms) — or higher (e.g. B.Ed + 12th + etc.). 

Paper II Classes VI to VIII (Upper Primary) Graduation (or equivalent) + Diploma/Certificate in Education (or as per NCTE norms) — or higher. 

 

 

> *Note: The qualifications must align with the norms laid out by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), as adopted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). 

 

 

 

Other Eligibility Conditions:

 

Nationality requirements as per guidelines. 

 

There is no prescribed maximum age limit for CTET 2026. 

 

Qualifying CTET does not guarantee a teaching job — it renders you eligible to apply for teaching positions. 

 

📝 The Complete Mode of Selection Process

📋 Detailed Mode of Selection & Assessment (Exam Pattern)

The CTET exam for 2026 will be offline – pen & paper based. 

There are two papers: Paper I (for Classes I–V) and Paper II (for Classes VI–VIII). You may apply for one or both. 

Each paper consists of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), carrying 1 mark each — total 150 marks per paper. 

Duration / Shift (for CTET Feb 2026):

Paper II: 09:30 AM to 12:00 NOON 

Paper I: 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM 


There is no interview — selection is purely on the basis of marks obtained in CTET. The certification (if qualified) is valid for applying to teaching posts (subject to recruitment procedures by different schools/boards). 


Note: Qualifying CTET means you are eligible for appointment. Final selection/employment depends on separate recruitment procedures by schools or school-boards. 

📝 How to Fill Exam Form

🖥️ How to Fill the CTET February 2026 Online Form — Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Visit the official website: ctet.nic.in. 


2. Click on “Apply for CTET February 2026” (or similar link under Latest Notifications) once the form is active. 


3. If you are a new user — choose New Candidate Registration: provide basic personal details, valid email ID & mobile number, and create a login password. 


4. After registration, log in to fill the application form: enter personal details, educational qualifications, category, preferred exam city/cities, etc. 


5. Upload scanned photograph and signature as per prescribed specifications. 


6. Pay the application fee online (via Debit/Credit card or Net Banking). Fee details: For General/OBC — ₹ 1000 (one paper), ₹ 1200 (both papers); For SC/ST/Differently Abled — ₹ 500 (one paper), ₹ 600 (both papers). GST (if applicable) extra. 


7. Submit the form. Then download and print the Confirmation Page — keep it safe. 


8. If there is a correction window (as announced later), use your application number/password to correct any errors. After final submission, no offline or email/fax requests will be entertained.

📚 Complete Exam Syllabus (Subject-Wise) — Paper I & Paper II

Below is a summarized syllabus for CTET 2026 (as per 2026 Information Bulletin). For full details, download the syllabus PDF (see instructions in next section).

Paper I (Classes I — V) & Paper II (Classes VI — VIII) — Major Sections:

1. Child Development and Pedagogy

Child Development (Primary/Elementary)

Understanding inclusive education & gender issues

Learning and pedagogy

 

2. Language I (compulsory):

Language comprehension (reading unseen passages)

Pedagogy of language development

 

3. Language II (compulsory):

As above: comprehension + pedagogy

Language element (grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, etc.)

 

4. Mathematics

For Paper I: Arithmetic (number system, basic operations), Geometry (2D shapes), Mensuration, Data handling, basic algebra and geometry, etc. 

For Paper II (Upper Primary and above): Higher levels — arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data handling, problem-solving, etc. (as per detailed syllabus).

 

5. Environmental Studies / Social Studies & Science (depending on school level)

For Paper I: Environmental Studies (EVS): basic concepts of environment, family, school, food, shelter, water, travel, work, etc.

For Paper II: Social Studies / Social Sciences (for social science medium) or Science (for science medium). Topics include History, Geography, Social & Political Life, Environment, Natural Resources, etc. 

 

6. Pedagogical Issues related to the above content areas — i.e. how to teach, learning processes, classroom management, evaluation, inclusive education, etc.

📝 How Can Download Admit Card Step Wise.
Download Admit Card (Hall Ticket) Admit cards will be issued by the exam authority on the CTET website. After admit-card release, log in with your application number and password (or other required credentials) — navigate to “Download Admit Card” link. Download the admit card PDF, print it, and keep it safely. It will contain exam date, time, centre address, important instructions.
